About This Place

The suspension bridge as it stands today was constructed in 1923 making it just over 100 years old! There was a previous bridge constructed in 1852 however this was replaced by what stands today. Stand still and you will feel the movement of the bridge as others cross. Look East and you will see Chesters only pub on the river, The Boat House, The Royal Chester Rowing Club and in the distance Earls Eye Meadows can also be seen. From the West you will see the Groves, Bandstand, Weir and Old Dee Bridge.
