Snap
Cards Used
Snap is played using a standard 52-card deck with no jokers. The game can be played by two or more players, and all cards are dealt evenly between them. Players keep their cards face down and do not look at them during the game.
Aim of the Game
The aim of Snap is to win all the cards by being the first player to spot when two face-up cards have the same rank and shout “Snap!” before anyone else.
Point Scoring
Snap does not use a points system. Instead, players collect cards throughout the game. Each time a player correctly calls “Snap!”, they win the matching face-up piles and add them to the bottom of their face-down pile. The player who collects all the cards wins the game.
How to Deal
Shuffle the deck thoroughly and deal all the cards evenly among the players. Any extra card can be given to one player if the cards cannot be divided equally. Each player keeps their cards in a face-down pile without looking at them.
Gameplay
- 1
Players take turns revealing the top card from their face-down pile and placing it face up onto their own pile. Everyone watches the top card of each face-up pile.
- 2
When two top cards have the same rank, such as two 6s or two Kings, the first player to shout “Snap!” wins both face-up piles and places them at the bottom of their face-down pile.
- 3
Play continues until one player has collected all the cards or all other players have run out of cards, making that player the winner.
